Manifesto |
Exploring the theme of identity & distorted image, I have produced a number of puppets and a series of tests to suit the story of theme and to showcase the message behind them in an immersive installation setting. I have explored a way of combining my interests of texture, projected image, mixed-media and live-action to provoke a response from the audience. This setting has allowed me to explore not only puppet making, but a whole experience involving sound, light, and projected visual aspects to completely consume the audience and hopefully provoke a response by discussing the relationship between how we project ourselves to the world, how we’re perceived from different perspectives and how we see ourselves or what we don’t advertise so openly - while leaving room for audience interpretation.
It’s really important that the first image you see when you walk into the room is the curated angle/perspective, which then shifts and changes as you move around the puppets. This explores an interactive aspect and puts an emphasis on the contrast which is an integral part in challenging perspectives. |
